With Apple serving as the primary source of sales, global shipments of smartphones with 3D-sensing capabilities are expected to reach 103 million in 2018.
Thanks to strong sales of the iPhone X so far in 2018, and the expected boost the company will see come September with the arrival of its three next-generation models, Apple’s total shipments of smartphones with 3D-sensing technology looks set to reach a considerable 91 million units by the end of the year, equating to over 88% of the total number.
