Before launching 5G networks to the public, carriers must first test the technologies to get a feel for how they’ll work in the real world. And that’s precisely what AT&T is doing in Austin.
AT&T today said that it’s conducting its second 5G test using millimeter wave (mmWave) technology in Austin, Texas. This trial is pushing a fixed wireless 5G signal, allowing trial participants to stream live TV using DirecTV Now and get faster broadband speeds.
