Huawei trolls Apple and Samsung, claims it would “never” slow down phones

Two days ago, the Italian Competition Authority fined Apple and Samsung a combined $17.06 million (€15 million) due to a “complex investigation” which found that both companies forced updates on users which, unbeknownst to them, slowed down older hardware, thus making them more likely to upgrade to a newer smartphone.

Huawei, from the looks of things, couldn’t resist the opportunity to troll its two main rivals and subsequently sent out a Tweet via its official UK Twitter account. This stated that the company would “never” slow phones down “to force an upgrade.” Moreover, with shipments of the Huawei Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro set to commence today in the UK, it used to opportunity to promote the speed of its latest flagships by including the hashtags “BornFastStaysFast” and “NeverSlowDown.”
