It seems that BlackBerry will soon release a new mid-range smartphone called BlackBerry Leap. Previously revealed under the name of BlackBerry Rio, the Leap today appeared in a set of live photos, which pretty much confirm the fact that the handset doesn’t look too different from the BlackBerry Z3 (launched last year).
However, unlike the Z3, which sports a 5-inch display with 540 x 960 pixels, the BlackBerry Leap offers a 5-inch screen with 720 x 1280 pixels. It’s also got better cameras (8MP on the back, and 2 MP on the front), more RAM (2 GB), and more storage space (16 GB, expandable). Other features include LTE connectivity, a dual-core 1.5 GHz Qualcomm processor, and a 2800 mAh battery. The new BlackBerry handset is 9.5mm-thin, and it should be available in two color versions: black and white.
