iOS 14 “Headphone Safety” reveals Apple still doesn’t care about customer choice

If you have an iPhone with the brand-new iOS 14 software installed, you may have noticed that there’s a new “Headphone Safety” sub-menu in Settings. Depending on where you live in the world, you may have even been forced to find it and fiddle with it, but haven’t found a solution to a peculiar problem.

See, Apple implemented an admittedly pretty cool and thoughtful feature — it’s called Headphone Notifications. The iPhone will determine whether you’ve been listening to music too loud over a long period of time and — if so — it will lower your sound levels and send you a warning notification.
