Qualcomm charged with anticompetitive practices by US regulatory agency

The US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has officially charged Qualcomm with using “anticompetitive tactics” in order to maintain its monopoly on supply of a key component for smartphone and tablet processors.

In doing so, the FTC charges, the California-based chip-maker has both increased costs for the consumer and crippled competition.
