Puppet Continues Focus On Windows Server Environments With New DSC, WSUS Modules

As one of the early DevOps tools to recognize the proliferation of mixed Linux and Windows environments, Puppet Labs has been integrating Windows server support for years. Today, the company announced two new modules for PowerShell Desired State Configuration (DSC) and Windows Server Update Services (WSUS).

For those new to the world of configuration management, Puppet is an IT automation software that helps Windows and Linux teams automate configuration management across physical, virtual, cloud, on-premises as well as multi-platform and multi-cloud environments. Puppet is an open source tool, but the company offers a paid solution called Puppet Enterprise that includes additional capabilities and support options. The new DSC and WSUS client modules are available for organizations using both open source and enterprise versions of Puppet.
