Verizon making Safety Mode free with all of its new plans

Back in July, Verizon launched an all-new Verizon Plan with several new features like Safety Mode, which would let you avoid data overages by giving you unlimited throttled data after your high-speed bucket was used. Customers on the smaller Verizon Plans had to pay $5 per month for Safety Mode, but now that’s changing.

Verizon has revealed that starting Sept. 6, Safety Mode will be included with every plan. Previously, Safety Mode was only included with the largest XL (16GB) and XXL (24GB) plans, with customers on S (2GB), M (4GB) and L (8GB) plans paying extra to avoid overages.
