Windows Hello seems powerful enough to protect your data from your twin

The biggest issue with facial recognition software, is that well, my older son looks a lot like me. We’ve seen Google work hard at fixing this in its latest versions of Android, but that is no guarantee on every scenario. Microsoft has been working hard on that regard with Windows Hello, and today we’re shown how.

Microsoft’s launch of Windows 10 included a bevy of new services, and when it comes to security, we have Windows Hello, which is the company’s biometric security system. This allows you to authenticate your computer using facial recognition, fingerprints, etc. Obviously security is a concern, so The Australian recently decided to test the service by using identical twins. One twin used a Lenovo Thinkpad running Windows 10 to create a profile, and then the company used the second twin to try to see if he could unlock the computer. The results were positive, as Windows Hello was able to detect that it wasn’t the same person.
