Rancher Labs, announced the general availability of its open source container management software platform called Rancher. Rancher is an easy to use, container management platform that provides a central user interface for both managing applications and infrastructure; the platform has been in beta for the past year.
Unlike other container management platforms, Rancher provides a cloud-agnostic infrastructure layer that enables IT departments to use any public or private cloud, or even a traditional data center. Rancher takes raw computing resources from any Linux host, whether it’s a virtual machine, or a physical one.
