Galaxy Note 5: evolution, or regression?

Samsung finally unveiled the newest addition to its long-running phablet line, Galaxy Note 5, to the world earlier today, and with it came the confirmation of nearly all of the rumors we’ve been circulating for the past several weeks. The new metal and glass design inspired by the Galaxy S6. The spring-loaded S Pen stylus. The sort of surprisingly small 3000 mAh battery.

Most importantly, the omission of expandable storage and a removable battery. For all of the great new software features Samsung has added on to the Galaxy Note 5, there were quite a few changes made to the hardware that was bound to divide longtime fans of the Note series … and lo and behold, here we are, with users complaining left and right that Samsung has lost its way. So is the Note 5 truly an upgrade from last year’s popular Galaxy Note 4, or a step in the wrong direction?
