Earlier this month, AT&T started rolling out the Android 5.0.1 Lollipop update for the Samsung Galaxy S4, and now it looks like Verizon is getting ready to update its version of the handset to the same Android version. The new update from Verizon will update the software to build number LRX22C.I545VRUGOC1. With the Samsung Galaxy S4 launched more than a couple of years ago, it’s nice to see that the two largest US carriers are updating the handset to the latest major version of Android.
The update will be gradually rolled out to Verizon customers rocking the Samsung Galaxy S4, so it may be a while before getting your Lollipop fix. Your phone will notify you when the update is available for your device, but if you’re feeling impatient, you can manually check for updates by going to Settings -> About Device -> Software Update -> Check for Updates.
