Motorola announced on Thursday evening that the second-generation Motorola Moto X is undergoing a soak test for Android 5.1 in Brazil. With the soak test, a limited number of units are seeded the update. By keeping the number of phones being tested to a manageable number, it makes it easier for Motorola to monitor the test. And if there is a problem with the update, only a small number of handsets would be affected. To have your device considered to be a participant in a soak test, you must be a member of the Motorola Feedback Network.
Motorola says that the second-gen Moto X units being soak tested with Android 5.1 in Brazil are limited to models purchased from “select retail partners” in the country. Motorola says that other devices are undergoing regional and carrier testing for Android 5.1, and owners of those devices should be patient.
